Certificates and Building Regulations

Do I get a certificate for new electrical work?
Yes. After testing, we give you an Electrical Installation Certificate for new circuits and larger jobs, or a Minor Works Certificate for smaller additions. Notifiable work is also registered with building control as required.
Can you add sockets without rewiring the house?
Usually, yes. If the existing circuit is in good condition and has capacity, we can extend it to add sockets. We test the circuit first, and if it is not safe to extend, we explain why and suggest the best option.
When should I replace my consumer unit?
Consider a replacement if you have an old fuse box with rewireable fuses, no RCD protection or signs of scorching, or if you are adding new circuits. We test your wiring first and advise whether a new unit is needed.
Can you install outdoor lighting and sockets?

How long does a typical installation take?
